Echoes of Silenced Bells walkthrough

St. Tyna’s necklace is on the dead nun inside the sacristy, not on the saint’s body in the chapel. Take the Monastery Keys from the nearby shed, unlock the sacristy and decide how to clear the way for Anca.

Reach the convent with Anca

After Smoke and Ashes, meet Anca at the Crossroads Inn and follow her through the fog. Defeat and inspect the first undead nun, then retreat with Anca into the refectory. Upstairs, examine the buildings from the balcony to reveal your passage options.

Read each time-cost prompt. The optional investigations and the later ritual make a single fixed total misleading.

Find the keys and the correct corpse

  1. Visit the infirmary’s rear window. Focus Mode highlights the interaction. Ask about the library and accept the soldiers’ necklace request.
  2. Find the caretaker’s shed. It is a small wooden building against the convent wall beside the chapel area. Take the keys hanging inside.
  3. Open the sacristy. Look for the adjacent building with a cross on its roof. Search the dead nun and take the relic from her neck.
  4. Return to the window. Giving the necklace to the soldiers opens the safe-passage route. Refusing leads to combat.

The chapel’s saintly corpse and its nearby note explain where the necklace went. Rechecking that same corpse will not substitute for searching the sacristy.

IGN shows a rooftop approach using night powers and a ground route for daytime. Keep your distance from the roaming nuns; the route does not require you to defeat every one outside.

Use the bells if you want another passage

PowerPyx documents a second method. Read Campana Loquitur in the dormitory, then climb the bell tower. The rope interaction now offers destination signals rather than requiring you to guess a ring count.

SignalResult
ChurchMoves the nuns out of the courtyard so Anca can cross.
InfirmarySends the nuns against the soldiers. Move the nuns away again afterward; this branch increases Infamy.
DormitoryMoves the nuns toward the western side; it is not the same as clearing the courtyard into the church.

If you used the Infirmary signal and the area is still unsafe, select Church to move the nuns onward.

Return to Anca and finish the search

Tell Anca the route is clear, follow her into the library and inspect the bookcase she stops beside. Push it aside to reach the catacombs. Follow the open route through the undead nuns to Leonica.

During Leonica’s encounter, clear the reanimated nuns when she disappears, then resume attacking when she returns. After the fight, speak to Anca about the notes. The necklace pickup alone does not finish this quest.

Choose what happens to Leonica’s notes

Allowing Anca to finish the ritual clears the curse from the nuns. Burning the notes leaves them in their existing state. Both choices lead onward to Between the Words in the published walkthroughs.

The guides disagree about the wider relationship implications. This page does not treat burning the notes as a proven romance lockout. Choose based on the immediate outcome shown in the scene.

Common points of confusion

  • The saint has no necklace: search the sacristy corpse instead.
  • The keys do not open the infirmary: its soldiers require the window negotiation or another passage method.
  • The nuns still block the route: check the bell destination, especially after using Infirmary.
  • The objective still says to help Anca: return and tell her the route is clear before going on alone.

Questions before you continue

Is St. Tyna’s necklace in the chapel?

It has been moved. Use the Monastery Keys to enter the sacristy and search the dead nun there.

Must I give the relic to the soldiers?

No. Published walkthroughs also document the bell route. Refusing the soldiers at the window instead leads to a fight.
