The Blood of Dawnwalker romance options
The Blood of Dawnwalker has three reported romance options: Anca, Crake (also called Marat), and Lacra. PC Gamer and VGC both report that Coen can pursue all three in one playthrough; choosing one does not automatically close the other two. The practical limit is the campaign clock, because each relationship sits inside a longer questline. PC Gamer romance guide; VGC romance guide.
Spoiler boundary: the route notes below name quests, commitment choices and epilogue conditions. They summarize launch guides published September 2–4, 2026; this site has not replayed the three routes, and a later patch or localization may change exact labels.

How to romance Anca
- During Withering Away, stay for Page-Turner if you want the earliest flirt scene. PowerPyx records that this optional prologue quest must be completed before Sacred Covenant, but the launch romance guides do not establish it as the final romance lock.
- Continue Anca's chain through Echoes of Silenced Bells, Between the Words, Where Old Devils Lie, and Stronger Than Achilles. PC Gamer reports that the final choice in Echoes of Silenced Bells and who uses the Font do not close the romance.
- During Stronger Than Achilles, choose the commitment dialogue and tell Anca that Coen loves her. Return to the inn afterward and choose the explicitly romantic response to complete the relationship scene.

How to romance Crake (Marat)
Crake is Marat, the Manumit leader. Follow the Manumit chain from The Firebrand and Shadows in the Woods through Where Loyalty Lies, What Hunts the Night, What Moves the Dead, and Who Pulls the Strings. The romance-critical optional branch is Distant Shadows followed by A Closer Look. Complete both before the ending quest Rise at Dawn.
In A Closer Look, reassure Crake that the revelation has not changed how Coen sees him, then reciprocate when he kisses Coen. Rise at Dawn controls the Manumit-assisted ending route; it should not be confused with the A Closer Look romance commitment. How to romance Lacra
Start A Friend Like This, then continue The Song of the Mountain, Hive and Seek, Our Rotten Roots, and the optional The Night of Horrors. PowerPyx records The Night of Horrors as available after Our Rotten Roots and places it before Lacra's ending quest, Midnight Reckoning.
PowerPyx describes an optional intimate scene with Lacra after the mandrake conversation: follow her, accept her blood and choose the kiss. It ties Mesmerise to drinking her blood during that branch, while eating the mandrake grants the separate Mandrake Ward perk. The walkthrough says the intimate branch is optional for progression and does not materially change the ending or other quests. PowerPyx: The Night of Horrors.
These are source-reported final-scene steps, not a verified complete unlock route. GAMES.GG also describes earlier relationship choices and warns about dawn, but its reward summary does not preserve PowerPyx’s distinction between quest completion and the optional intimate branch. Earlier relationship requirements and the exact dawn cutoff remain unresolved here; completing the quest or eating the mandrake alone should not be treated as confirmation that Mesmerise unlocked. Can you romance everyone, and does romance change the ending?
The three romances are not mutually exclusive in the two complete launch guides reviewed here. Romance does not replace the larger alliance and ending choices. Anca's personal quests affect her epilogue dialogue. Lacra's Midnight Reckoning and Crake's Rise at Dawn are allied ending routes whose requirements extend beyond accepting a romance scene. Keep a manual save before late character quests if you want to compare outcomes without spending another run.

Coen's family and the people around him
The family relationships below come from the developer's character background. They help distinguish relatives from other villagers without revealing later endings.
- Pieter: Coen's father, a former mercenary who taught him swordsmanship. Coen also worked beside him in the silver mines as a child.
- Esme: Coen's mother. Her health deteriorated after Brencis's takeover; caring for her motivates the early medicine errand.
- Yanna: the second-oldest sibling. She looks after Mirto and Lunka while Coen and Pieter are away.
- Mirto: Coen's younger brother, increasingly restless as the family struggles.
- Lunka: the youngest sibling, especially close to Coen, who tries to guide her judgement.

Anca
More than the supplier of Esme's medicine, Anca taught Coen to read and encouraged him to look beyond the obvious meaning of a text. The official profile hints that she carries a secret, without identifying it. Her prologue introduction is covered in Withering Away. Official Anca profile.
Marat and Lacra: two opponents of Brencis
Marat leads a rebellion against the vrakhiri. His followers see a courageous, persuasive leader, but his fear of betrayal makes him selective about whom he trusts. Official Marat profile.
Lacra says she was sent to eliminate Brencis. The publisher deliberately frames this as her claim; it does not name her employer or confirm an automatic alliance with Coen. Official Lacra profile.
Names connected to practical quest tasks
Gavril and Lazar are brothers: Gavril starts the search described in Deep Down. Farkas brings the invitation that leads to Bakir's Lunar Game. These are quest roles, not companion-recruitment promises.
