Keep these two ointment recipes separate
| Item | Materials required | Displayed recovery |
|---|---|---|
| Minor Mending Ointment | 1 Canteen of Water + 2 Ribwort Plantain | Immediately restores 30% Human Health |
| Potent Mending Ointment | 1 Weak Spirits + 2 Tansy | 75% Human Health Restoration |
The 7:58–8:08 ESO panels show the two recipes. A number such as 13/1 means 13 held against a requirement of 1; it does not mean the recipe consumes 13. Read the selected item name before comparing ingredients.
Prepare the item and check your current quick slot
Prerequisites: the selected recipe is already unlocked in Crafting, and you have all its listed materials. The example below is an out-of-combat menu preparation; it does not establish crafting access during combat or every quest restriction.
- Open Crafting, select Minor or Potent Mending Ointment, and compare each held/required material count.
- Hold the on-screen Craft input. ESO’s Minor panel shows “Hold A to Craft”; use the input shown for your platform. Craft All is a separate command, so do not hold it if you only want one.
- Check that the finished ointment appears in your inventory before relying on it.
- Before fighting, open Equipment and assign it to a day quick slot. For nighttime recovery, separately equip an appropriate vampire item in the night set.
A locked recipe or insufficient materials is not an input failure. These steps start from an already-available recipe; the acquisition route for Minor and Potent is not covered here.
Gather the correct plants and recipe ingredients
ESO recommends using Focus to spot gathering objects and buying water from general merchants. Match the picked-up item’s name to the recipe: a visible plant or a nearby mushroom is not automatically Ribwort Plantain.
Game8 also documents a separate Mending Ointment recipe using 1 Linseed Oil and 2 Comfrey, with its recipe found in the house during the prologue’s Enter Not quest. That name is distinct from both Minor and Potent. This is a small, identified recipe set, not an all-recipes checklist.
Use recovery that matches the vampire form
A straightforward item option is a Vial of Human Blood. While Coen is a vampire at night, assign the vial to the night quick-slot set and activate that item when you need recovery. Check its item description for the amount and confirm both the remaining vial count and your vampiric health afterward. Game8 describes blood vials as restoring a flat amount that varies by blood type; this page does not supply an unverified amount.
Voracious Bite is another nighttime option, but its charge and cooldown must be available. Feeding increases Corruption, including when feeding on animals.
The Blood Leeches panel in IGN’s footage states 100% of a Vampiric Health Segment and increased Corruption: one segment, not the whole bar. Ointment percentages instead refer to Human Health. See the Corruption guide for feeding consequences.
