FIELD GUIDE

How to get The Hand of Fate

The Hand of Fate is inside a locked coffin in Father Florin’s Ancient Ruin. The Stone Key that opens it is hidden beneath Svartrau Cathedral’s Treasury; the Treasury itself needs a different key.

Keep the three keys separate

Reach Father Florin first: enter the Curious House directly north of Svartrau’s West Gate through its balcony. In the Name of the Father leads through this house to Florin’s underground meeting place. Continue that prerequisite until A Hero’s End points you toward the Ancient Ruin; the coffin directions below begin at that ruin objective. PowerPyx’s Father Florin entrance description identifies the house and balcony.

A Hero’s End leads to the ruin; the Stone Key is collected in the cathedral complex. Having the entrance key does not unlock the weapon’s coffin.

Collect the Treasury Key and enter the garden building

  1. Visit Svartrau Cathedral in daytime and enter through the front doors.
  2. Speak to the young acolyte and help move the boxes to gain belltower access. Check the time prompt before accepting.
  3. Inside the belltower’s northwestern room, inspect the ledger to collect the Treasury Key.
  4. Go out to the cathedral’s northern garden and unlock the Treasury building.

This is the documented daytime entry. A nighttime route exists, but it requires navigating the cathedral’s upper structure around its occupants.

Find the hidden room and Stone Key

  1. Enter the Treasury’s second room and turn left.
  2. Push the interactable bookshelf to expose the passage.
  3. Climb down the ladder and open the hatch.
  4. Use Focus Mode to find the Stone Key on the stone in front of the cross.

The route’s recorded interaction reads Pick Up Stone Key. Check that pickup before traveling back to the ruin. The Treasury’s bookcase passage also contains the chalice clue used in A Monk and a Saint.

Return to the Ancient Ruin at night

Once A Hero’s End points you to the Ancient Ruin, take the Ancient Key from the barrel beside Father Florin and use it at the ruin entrance. This route uses nighttime Shadowstep for the gaps inside.

  1. Squeeze through the narrow wall opening and defeat the Ancient Guardian in the first area.
  2. Take the left route, follow it to the end and turn left again.
  3. Use Shadowstep across the gap, then move up the far side.
  4. Continue toward the open doorway and clear the Kobolds in the next room.
  5. Use the Stone Key on the coffin and collect its contents.

The recorded rewards include The Hand of Fate and Ancient Hero’s Ring. This nighttime traversal is one documented route; it does not prove the coffin itself only works at night.

Confirm the weapon, then compare its current panel

The recorded inventory identifies The Hand of Fate as a Legendary Shortsword. Its demonstrated bonuses support Activation Charge restoration and Witchcraft cooldown or damage. Restoration increases are not a reduction to the amount an ability costs.

The footage shows a level-26 item, so compare the panel in your save instead of treating that recording’s damage number as a universal value. The weapon’s Witchcraft bonuses do not change the daytime requirement for casting Witchcraft.

Questions before you continue

Where do I use the Stone Key?

Use it on the hidden coffin inside Father Florin’s Ancient Ruin. The Treasury Key opens the cathedral building where you found it; the Ancient Key opens the ruin entrance.
