Corruption Guide

Corruption is the secondary progression system that tracks how far Coen has given in to his vampiric nature — shown right next to his health bar. As of September 5, 2026, this page covers what's confirmed about it; Game8's own source guide for this is still marked a work in progress, so treat this as the current state of knowledge, not the final word.

What Corruption Does

Raising Corruption unlocks advanced perks and abilities in the Vampirism skill tree — the higher it climbs, the more of that tree opens up, and those unlocks make boss fights and nighttime exploration noticeably easier. It's not just a combat stat, though: a high Corruption level actively pushes Coen's story down "the path of vampirism" rather than his humanity, and it's described as one of the things that shapes which ending you eventually get.

FAQ

What does Corruption actually do?

It unlocks advanced Vampirism skill tree perks and abilities as it rises, and it also shapes the story — pushing Coen toward the vampire path and influencing which ending you get.

How do I raise Corruption?

Drink blood from humans or animals via the Voracious Bite ability, drink Vials of Blood at night, or unlock the Hastened Corruption perk to speed up the gain rate.

Can I avoid raising Corruption?

Yes — it's optional. But staying low locks you out of the advanced Vampirism perks, which makes some fights and nighttime exploration harder.
